PSL 10: Usman Tariq reported for suspect bowling action

In Sunday’s PSL 10 encounter against Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown reported Quetta Gladiators spinner Usman Tariq for a questionable bowling action.
According to the rules, Usman can bowl in future bouts. If reported again, he will be suspended from bowling and must have ICC-accredited lab clearance before playing again.
The mystery spinner has been reported for suspicious behaviour twice in PSL. He was earlier flagged against Karachi Kings in the ninth Pakistan Super League. That game was umpired by Richard Illingworth and Asif Yaqoob.
After taking two wickets in five matches in 2024, the 27-year-old was disappointed. He’s played two matches in the tenth edition and taken three wickets.
The Saud Shakeel-led Quetta Gladiators lost their second match of the competition to two-time PSL champions Lahore Qalandars by 79 runs at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Lahore Qalandars’ all-round dominance saw Quetta Gladiators knocked out for 140, chasing a 220 mark.
Shaheen Afridi dismissed Saud Shakeel for one run in the first over. Shaheen dismissed Finn Allen for a duck after Asif Afridi dismissed Hassan Nawaz for one. Quetta fell to 9-3 after 3.2 overs.
With 45 runs, Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis tried to recover. Mendis hit 28 off 14 balls before falling to Haris Rauf, leaving Quetta 54-4.
Rishad Hossain took his first PSL wicket after Rossouw scored 44 off 19 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. Raza dismissed Shoaib Malik for 14 and Akeal Hosein for 14 in the same over, continuing the collapse. Rishad dismissed Mohammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed to finish his three-wicket haul.
Lahore won by 110 runs with Asif Afridi finishing the tail.
Fakhar Zaman’s 67 off 39 balls and Sam Billings’ blistering 50 off 19 helped Lahore Qalandars score 220. Quetta barely threatened despite Akeal Hosein and Abrar Ahmed’s two wickets.
