What Is the Latest Update in Haider Ali’s UK Case?

Greater Manchester Police have given Pakistan batter Haider Ali two further weeks on his bail after a British-Pakistani woman made a complaint against him about something that happened at a hotel in the area.

Haider was supposed to go to the police on August 20, but they have now asked him to come back two weeks later because the inquiry is still going on.

The police claimed, “It’s said that the event took place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at a location in Manchester.” The individual has been released on bail as the investigation continues. Police are helping the victim.

Ali said he had done nothing wrong during his police questioning. His family said he told police that he knew the woman well and called her a friend. Sources also said that they met at a hotel in Manchester.

Kent Police arrested Ali at the Players’ Canteen Office at the Spitfire County Cricket Ground and subsequently took him to the Canterbury Police Station.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) temporarily suspended the player while the judicial process is still going on.

“The PCB fully respects the legal procedures of the United Kingdom and acknowledges the importance of allowing the investigation to follow due process,” the board said in a statement.

“Because of this, the PCB has decided to put Haider Ali on temporary leave, starting now, until the inquiry is finished.

“The PCB has the right to take appropriate action under its Code of Conduct if necessary once the legal proceedings are over and all the facts have been properly established.”

It is important to note that the 24-year-old has played in 35 Twenty20 internationals and two One-Day Internationals for Pakistan since making his debut in 2020.
