Bangladesh Set for White-Ball Series in Pakistan This May

Comprising three ODIs and as many T20s in May, the Bangladesh men’s cricket team will be visiting Pakistan for a white-ball series, The News reported on Tuesday.

Bangladesh’s second visit in as many years will be marked here. Their last visit saw them triumph historically with a 2-0 Test series over the green shirts. Originally scheduled to run from April 11 to May 18, the white-ball series is probably going to last momentarily following the end of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Originally scheduled as part of the Future Tours Program (FTP), the show had to be cancelled due to team schedules that were too packed.

Nevertheless, both boards have decided to proceed with the series in May following recent talks during the visit of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Faruque Ahmed to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

“I appreciate PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi inviting me,” remarked Ahmed.

The two boards have discussed holding white ball series apart from FTP. He said the boards are in negotiations to plan the series.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Naqvi welcomed Ahmed to Pakistan and lauded the BCB’s support in hosting the Champions Trophy 2025. He also attested to the fact that the two cricket boards have been talking about the series for the past few weeks.

“I would want to welcome Faruque Ahmed on the Lahore semi-final event. Naqvi thanked Faruque Ahmed and BCB for helping to arrange the Champions Trophy.

The media reports from Dhaka suggested that the white-ball series is expected to be held in Faisalabad, Multan, and Lahore.
