Swedish unemployment third highest in EU

Stockholm – Unemployment in the eurozone fell to 6.2 percent in July, down from 6.3 percent in June, according to the statistics agency Eurostat. But in Sweden, it is moving sideways, at a clearly higher level.

For the entire EU, unemployment fell to 5.9 percent, down from 6.0 percent.

The Swedish unemployment rate in July at 8.7 percent is the third highest in the EU. Only Spain at 10.4 percent and Finland at 9.5 percent have higher unemployment, according to Eurostat’s compilation.
