Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in European Robotics Week to strengthen their STEM skills

Sarajevo, (Fena) – Europe House, in partnership with the National Coordinator of the European Robotics Week in Bosnia and Herzegovina and schools across the country, organized a series of interactive workshops aimed at highlighting the importance of this leading EU initiative that brings robotics, coding, and future technologies closer to younger generations.

The educational workshops held in schools in Gradačac, Kiseljak, Mostar, and Travnik aimed to equip students with essential STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) skills.

Designed to spark curiosity and encourage creativity, the activities provided students with their first step into the world of robotics and technology, helping them envision themselves as future scientists, engineers, and programmers.

During the workshops, students had the opportunity to create simple robots from recycled materials, learn basic commands, complete guided tasks using introductory programming tools, and develop short scripts and input functions.

All activities promoted creativity, teamwork, safe and responsible use of technology, and constructive thinking about what works and how it can be improved – key competencies for future STEM learning.

Since its launch in 2011, the European Robotics Week has mobilized schools, universities, innovators, startups, and the wider public across Europe through a diverse program of demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities.

The initiative showcases how robotics enhances various sectors of society – from healthcare and industry to culture and everyday life – and provides inspiration for a new generation of European innovators to actively engage in the development of modern technologies. (28.11.)
