Soumya Sarkar ruled out of Pakistan tour?

Bangladesh lose talented all-rounder Soumya Sarkar to a lower back injury in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) acknowledged the setback on Thursday, ahead of the high-profile visit. The all-rounder has had a right lower back ache for a week. After a thorough medical evaluation, national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan updated the player’s condition.

“Medical evaluation shows the injury requires 10–12 days of rehabilitation. The three-match series in Pakistan next week will be without him “Bayjedul remarked. The BCB replaced him with all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Mehidy, who has played 29 T20Is, is playing for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 10. Miraz is scheduled to join the national team in Lahore after PSL.

The 27-year-old was not in the series’ first roster. Bangladesh’s management briefed the media on their roster and strategy before the match.
