Riverclean, BE finances environmental projects in the basins of the Ishëm and Vjosa rivers in Albania

The European Union Office in Tirana announced the opening of a call for applications from civil society organizations for funding of environmental projects under the Riverclean program.
The EU will fund projects that focus on supporting sustainable and plastic-free practices in the river basin areas of Ishëm and Vjosa.
“Through this call, grants of up to 15,000 euros are available for projects aimed at reducing plastic pollution, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging new waste management models in these ecologically sensitive areas,” announced the European Union Office in Tirana.
The application deadline is until September 8, 2025.

The Riverclean initiative is part of the European Union’s commitment to environmental protection, promoting sustainable development, and strengthening the role of civil society in monitoring and implementing these practices at the local level.
The European Union, through several projects, has supported the sustainable resolution of environmental issues in Albania, while the country has opened membership negotiations. (September 1)
