EU millions for Scandinavian dance

Stockholm – The Scandinavian dance project DOKS receives 1.76 million euros from the EU’s Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak (ÖKS).
The project aims to strengthen the labor market for dancers and other actors in the dance field, such as set designers, lighting designers, and technicians. It will particularly facilitate for those who operate under uncertain employment conditions.
Svenska Rum för Dans, which is part of Region Halland, leads the project. A Danish and a Norwegian dance institution are also involved.
“This is an important step to improve the conditions for everyone working in the dance field, not only at the national level but throughout our shared region,” says Rum för Dans project manager Annika Ostwald in a press release.
