Why is Suryakumar Yadav struggling vs Pakistan?

Bazid Khan, a former Pakistan batter, thinks that India might have a weakness that Pakistan might take advantage of in the upcoming Asia Cup: Suryakumar Yadav’s inability to play well against the Men in Green.
Bazid said on a local TV show that Suryakumar can score freely against most teams, but he has always had trouble against Pakistan.
“Suryakumar scores runs against almost everyone, but for some reason, he hasn’t been able to do it against Pakistan.” Bazid stated, “It is still a problem, whether it is the pace attack or something else.”
Yadav is under even more strain as he gets ready to lead India in high-stakes matches like the India-Pakistan game and possible knockout matches in the Super Four and the final. This will be his first time as captain in a multi-nation competition.
The 33-year-old has been one of the best T20 batsmen in recent years, but he hasn’t been able to do much against Pakistan.
In five T20I innings against them, he has only scored 64 runs, with an average of 12.80 and a strike rate of 118.51. His highest score is 18. He hasn’t gotten a fifty or a hundred against Pakistan yet, which is interesting.
He has had trouble on several types of surfaces, like spin-friendly tracks in Dubai during the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2022 Asia Cup, and pace-friendly grounds in Melbourne (2022 T20 World Cup) and New York (2024 T20 World Cup).
Yadav’s performances in the Asia Cup are only slightly better: 31 runs in two innings, with an average of 15.50 and a strike rate of 110.71.
Statistically, Pakistan is the only team that Suryakumar has played more than five times without averaging 30 or more. Even against England, when he averages 29.08, he has an amazing strike rate of 171.92.
India’s first T20I match since their home series against England in January will be the Asia Cup. The competition, which has eight teams, starts on September 9 with Afghanistan playing Hong Kong in the first match.
Pakistan and India are in Group A, together with the UAE and Oman. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong are in Group B.
India’s first match will be against the UAE in Dubai on September 10. The next match, against Pakistan, will be on September 14. The last match of the group stage will be against Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19.
