Why Is Babar Azam Preparing For PSL 11?
The preparations of Babar Azam PSL 11 have also started early because the Pakistan star batter has resolved to miss the ongoing National T20 Cup to concentrate on training before the Pakistan Super League Season 11.
The decision was made after consultation with the national team management, which is 31 years of age. Babar will use the time to polish his batting rhythm as opposed to holding domestic matches. This is due to the fact that the competitive cricket break is supposed to allow him to calm-down and restructure prior to the next franchise league, according to sources.
Speculation had it that the former Pakistan captain was requested to attend in the domestic T20 competition. Sources however confirmed that this was not so. Babar has already began to have individual net sessions with coaches. His development is on enhancing style and refined playing on the crease.
The opener who is the right-hander has also notified this time forward to Lahore Whites that he will not be playing in future fixtures of the National T20 Cup. His primary concern at this point is being the leader of Peshawar Zalmi in the second season of the Pakistan Super League.
Babar is not even included in the ODI team of Pakistan to the current series with Bangladesh in Mirpur. The series of three matches is still going on with the last ODI to be held between 13-15 March.
Even in his present absence, Babar is among the most successful ODI batters of Pakistan. He has played 140 games with a total of 6,501 runs at an average of 53.72 and 20 centuries and 37 half-centuries. His performances in the last ODI series against Sri Lanka were good with an unbeaten 102 in the second match being the highlight. In the meantime, the Pakistan Cricket Board has already published the plan of PSL Season 11.
