Why Did Pakistan Slip in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) came up with updated One Day International (ODI) rankings on Monday where there was a change in the ranks of some teams where Pakistan was among the teams which fell.
Recent ODI ranking dropped one position where in comparison to earlier ranking, which placed Pakistan in a fourth position, it is now ranked as fifth with points at 3,465. This was due to Sri Lanka which overtook Pakistan and attained the forth position with 4,009 points.
The West Indies also got better by a ranking of one to ninth. This improvement lowered the position of Bangladesh to tenth after it lost rank one. India still occupied the top of ODI rankings with 4,471 points. New Zealand remains at the second position having 4,160 points with Australia coming at third position having 3,473 points.
South Africa occupy the sixth position with 2,775 points and Afghanistan is ranked seventh with 2,279 points. To the layman, the West Indies won a nervy five wicket game against Pakistan in the second ODI, which was reduced, due to rain in this match played in Tarouba on Sunday.
The victory which was driven by pivotal innings played by Roston Chase and Sherfane Rutherford together with significant work done by the captain Shai Hope turned the series tie 1-1.
Rain affected the match which was cut to 35 overs. In response to 181, West Indies started off with a shock when Hasan Ali removed the opener Brandon King off the second over for one run. Hasan dealt another blow in another over to dismiss Evin Lewis who made seven leaving the hosts at 12-2 in less than 3.1 overs.
The West Indies batting line-up suffered when Keacy Carty was removed cheaply on his own score of 16 giving Abrar Ahmed his first scalp of the match. Pakistani bowlers were then heavily pressurized by Herfane Rutherford who made a counter attack.
Abrar gave 20 runs in an over chalked up by Rutherford when the fourth-wicket partnership prospered. Mohammad Nawaz ended the stand by removing Shai Hope who scored 32 off 35 balls, hitting two boundaries and a six.
Although on the verge of reaching his fifty, Rutherford too was sent packing by Nawaz after 45 runs in 33 balls including four boundaries and three sixes.
When the game was getting out of hand, Roston Chase together with Justin Greaves scored a critical 73-run combination.Chase was not out on 49 (47) and Greaves played 31 and got 26 helping West Indies to win in 33.2 overs.
In the previous innings, Pakistan made a slow start but lost their way as a result of good bowling led by Jayden Seales who hit important wickets such as that of captain Babar Azam who made a duck.
Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan tried to steady the innings but could only get 27 runs together as Shafique was out in the 17th over having scored 26 off 40 balls with three fours. Pakistan was in poor position at 88-4 in the 22 over. Hussain Talat played a good innings of 31 runs off 32 balls but he was caught behind by Roston Chase on his bowling.
The late thrust was given by Hasan Nawaz through big strikes, which saw Pakistan to a defensible score. He was also unbeaten seeing a score of 36 off 30 balls with 3 sixes, Shaheen Afridi ending with 11-ball unbeaten runs.
Seales ended with scores of 3/23, Gudakesh Motie 1/27, Roston chase 1/43, Shamar Joseph 1/39 and Jediah Blades 1/38.
