Who Will Survive Asia Cup’s Group Stage Chaos?

The Asia Cup 2025 group stage is approaching its final stages, and five teams are fighting to secure the last three Super Four positions. India has only achieved qualification due to its victories over Pakistan and the UAE. Oman has lost both its fixtures and is thus automatically eliminated.
Group A: Pakistan or UAE?
The focus is on the Pakistan-UAE conflict on Wednesday in Dubai. It is a head-on confrontation: the winner gets to the Super Four, the loser is out of the tournament. There could not be higher stakes, and the winner would meet the match on September 21.
Group B: A Three-Way Race
It is truly a matter of suspense, with Group B of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh,h and Afghanistan still alive and the Hongkows gone. Their win record puts them ahead, but there will be everything in their final match against Afghanistan.
-
Sri Lanka qualifies if they win.
-
Afghanistan must win to stay in the tournament.
-
Bangladesh progresses only if Sri Lanka beats Afghanistan, or if Afghanistan wins by a slim margin.
The group stage finishes with the match between India and Oman on September 19, which has no qualification impact. Between September 20-26, the Super Four will bring the best four teams and match in round-robin mode, and then the grand finale will be held on September 28.
With Pakistan and the UAE about to clash and Sri Lanka and Afghanistan ready to fight over high stakes, the Asia Cup has proven to live up to its expectations again, as it is unpredictable, harsh, and dramatic.
