Who Are the Groups for the Over 40s T20 World Cup 2025?

Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) announced on Monday the groups of the over 40s T20 World Cup scheduled to commence in Karachi November 21, this year.

The group one includes hosts Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada and the UAE. The second group includes the following countries, Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia and Rest of the World. It will be the inaugural edition to be hosted in the T20 format, 12 countries will be taking part.

The event will also host veterans above 40s and certainly, the tournament will be an intense and high-profile event to enjoy as the cricket heroes like Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoib Malik and Kamran Akmal are likely to join the event.

Pakistan holds a magnificent track record in veterans cricket and has won the Over 60s World Cup (Brisbane 2022), the Over 40s Global Cup (Karachi 2023) and the Over 50s World Cup (Colombo 2025). The fixtures themselves will see 42 games played in numerous different locations around Karachi and all the games involving Pakistan to take place in floodlight conditions.

According to the PVCA, the tournament was first scheduled to take place between December 1 and 13 but was to be postponed because of the 35th National Games, which would’ve been played in Karachi between December 6 and 13.

Over 40s T20 World Cup is later rescheduled to November 21 to December 1. National Games, which should have been held back in the month of May, will see the participation of more than 7,000 athletes, officials and technical personnel.
