What Is ODI World Cup 2027 Schedule?
The ODI World Cup 2027 schedule is provisionally confirmed, thus establishing a definite window for the next major global cricket event in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Based on the international calendar agreed upon, it is expected that the ODI World Cup 2027 will run from October 4 to November 21. The International Cricket Council board has accepted a timeline, agreed at a recent board meeting in Ahmedabad in May. The final confirmation however is yet to be made and will be formally ratified at the ICC Annual General Meeting in Edinburgh in July.
The tournament is being co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. South Africa will be responsible for the organizing of the event and Cricket South Africa is expected to host most of the games. South Africa is predicted to host at least 41 of the 54 matches in the eight stadiums – a testament to its infrastructure and experience hosting international events.
Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe Cricket) is expected to host eight to ten matches. The country’s engagement is also an extension of their hosting presence. Victoria Falls will join Harare and Bulawayo based stadiums in the venue list, according to reports, which indicate the list will grow to two or three stadiums.
Cricket Namibia will play three games in Namibia, which is one of the most geographically diverse ODI World Cups in recent history. The presence of several African countries is a testament to ICC’s effort to expand the reach of cricket and ensure competitive hosting environment.
