What Did PCB Say About Sana Mir?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to a recent social media post by former women’s cricket captain Sana Mir, calling her comments “factually incorrect” and telling her to check her facts before making public pronouncements.

Sana went on the social media site “X” and talked about her worries about when the domestic 50-over tournament will take place in relation to Pakistan’s World Cup preparations.

“So you think Pakistan won’t make it past the group stage before their campaign starts?” If you’re only going to play three ODIs before the World Cup, what’s the point of the 50-over National Championship? “Mir posted that it is important to give constructive criticism for the good of the country instead of praising inefficiency.” A high-ranking member of the PCB Women’s Wing explained that the National Women’s One-Day Tournament, which is part of the newly released 2025-26 domestic schedule, is the start of a new season for Pakistan’s women cricketers.

The source said that the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which would be held in India and Sri Lanka, will be the last event in the previous one-day cycle.

The Board addressed Mir’s worries about the scheduling of a “hasty” one-day home tournament on an already full calendar by stressing its dedication to the players’ physical and emotional well.

The official said that the national women’s team will have a busy schedule from July 7 to November 2, 2025. They will have two training camps (one in Karachi and one in Lahore), an away T20I series, a home ODI series, and the ICC Women’s World Cup, which will have seven league matches before the knockout stages.

The PCB also denied Sana Mir’s claim that the domestic 50-over tournament would happen at the same time as the ODI World Cup.

The PCB official responded, “This claim is not true.” The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will take place from September 30 to November 2, 2025.

The National Women’s One-Day Tournament will take place in Karachi from November 10 to 23. Preparations will start on November 6, after the World Cup ends.

The Board said that it has already started a 25-day skills and fitness camp in Karachi to get ready for the world event. The program comprises several 50-over practice games.

After the squad returns from Ireland on August 12 after a T20I series, the focus on ODI cricket will get even stronger. Preparations will begin for the South Africa ODI series, which starts on August 25 in Lahore.

The women’s ODI team will be working hard to get ready for the World Cup from August 25 to September 28, 2025. They will play three home ODIs and two warm-up matches against Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Colombo to improve their 50-over talents.

The cricket board also said that Pakistan won all of its matches in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in April and that all of the players then played in the National Women’s T20 Tournament in Karachi in May.
