The “Bezmer” Air Base will host the European Spartan Exercise 2025 flight training

AVIATION BASE “Bezmer” – The start of the flight training European Spartan Exercise 2025 (ESE 25) will be given at Bezmer Airport near Yambol on September 23. This was announced by the airbase. Tactical flights and other tasks will be carried out in the areas of Bezmer and Cheshnegirovo airports until October 3. Representatives of the Air Force (AF) of Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Lithuania will participate in them.
The flight training ESE 25 is being conducted as part of a program agreement between the operators of C-27J aircraft, members of the European Union.
By decisions of the Program Management Committee for C-27J, for the first time this year, countries operating Casa C-295 aircraft have also been invited to participate. The goal is to enhance operational compatibility and optimize resources.
As part of the training, tactical approaches for landing, low-altitude flights, tactical flights, troop and cargo drops, as well as air medical evacuation will be carried out, the press center of the “Bezmer” airbase adds.
The Bulgarian Air Force hosted the international flight training European Spartan Exercise in 2022 as well. Four C-27J military transport aircraft with crews from Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, and Romania participated in it. The participants in the exercise received their certificates at a ceremony in the Yambol “Bezisten”. (September 18)
