Roxana Mînzatu: The new hospital in Bistriţa, a lesson in confidence that European funds generate such projects
Bucharest – The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Roxana Mînzatu welcomed on Friday the completion of construction works at the first public hospital in Romania built with European funds, the one in Bistriţa, saying that this investment is a lesson that European money can generate such projects in the country.
“I am very happy that today I am part of this moment (…) It is a lesson that I am also receiving, that we are all receiving and that the European Union must also see: the confidence that in Romania investments from European public money generate such projects. I am absolutely convinced, knowing and working closely with the minister (of health, Alexandru) Rogobete, that in 2026, in 2027 we will see many such inaugurations,” said Mînzatu.
The EC Vice-President praised the involvement of the authorities in Bistriţa-Năsăud in carrying out this project and said that such people are needed, who can turn European funding into concrete projects for the community, also mentioning that “we are still in a very good funding context”.
Roxana Mînzatu urged the authorities in all member states to follow the model of Bistriţa and to start preparing projects for the next European financial framework 2028-2034, starting with the necessary documentation, in order to be able to access the new funding as quickly as possible. (19.12.2025)
