Rashid Latif Slams India for Refusing Asia Cup 2025 Trophy

The Asia Cup 2025 final finally took a dramatic and unforeseen turn when India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Although the Indian cricket team won the ninth Asia Cup, it declined to receive their medals and trophy at the hands of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and head of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi.
The apprehensive situation between the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the ACC postponed the ceremony by more than an hour. Single prizes, such as the Player of the Tournament award to Abhishek Sharma and the Best Bowler award to Kuldeep Yadav were awarded but the grand prize was not taken.
Presenter Simon Doull corroborated that the ceremony was cut short and said the Indian team had refused to accept their awards. The refusal was reportedly a protest against Naqvi and BCCI is said to have asked the players to boycott the presentation.
This act, which has dampened the victory of India, has now turned into a hotspot in Indo-Pakistan cricket relationships and held governance, sportsmanship, and political interference in the management of cricket in question.
