Pakistan Captain Agha Skips Interview After India Loss

Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, chose not to give an interview after their seven-wicket loss to India in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 match on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The match between two bitter rivals in the group stage was stressful, and the captains of both teams didn’t shake hands at the toss or after the game was over.

Suryakumar, the captain of India, and Shivam Dube, his teammate, fist-bumped and congratulated each other after hitting the winning runs. Then they went directly to the dressing room.

They shook hands with their teammates in the dugout but didn’t talk to the Pakistan players, who shook hands with each other and went to their dressing room.

The stress even affected the post-match presentation, where the captains of the teams talk about the game as usual. However, Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, did not go. India won the high-octane match against Pakistan by seven wickets, thanks to a strong team bowling effort and an undefeated knock by Suryakumar Yadav.

Pakistan chose to bat first and scored 127 runs in 20 overs, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s brave knock and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s quick cameo. With the help of three sixes and a four, Farhan stayed the highest scorer for Pakistan with a careful 40 off 44 deliveries. Shaheen hit four sixes on his way to a 16-ball 33.

India easily took down the 128-run goal, losing three wickets and had 25 balls left. Captain Suryakumar led the way with an unbeaten 47 runs off 37 balls. Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma each added 31 runs.

Saim Ayub had the only wicket for Pakistan, taking three for 35 runs in four overs.
