Nahid Rana shines under Shaun Tait’s coaching
Nahid Rana is glowing under the tutelage of Shaun Tait following his mind-bending performance in the initial ODI that Bangladesh had with Pakistan. It was an impressive feat by the 23 year old pace sensation who bagged five wickets in his 17 th international match and helped Bangladesh to win the match by a convincing margin of eight wickets.
Rana always bowled at a speed of over 140km/h and this made the Pakistani batters to be under enormous pressure. His violent manner was likened to that of his coach, the former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait, who was one of the leaders of the Australian pace attack in the early 2000s. Rana received acclaim, not only among fans but also analysts, in terms of his accuracy, speed and the ability to create bounce, and this much more points to his rising popularity as one of the top bowlers in Bangladesh.
Rana reflected on the match afterwards and gave Tait the credit of giving him confidence to perform on the international scene. He emphasized on the supportive coaching approach of Tait which is both professional and approachable. He is a fantastic coach, Rana said honestly, because he treats us not only as a coach, but as a friend, and that is one of the reasons why the mentorship of Tait has improved his performance and mentality.
The ODI series imparted a good beginning to Bangladesh, not only in the race against Pakistan, but also in demonstrating the significance of good coaching on young talent. His speed, precision, and mental stability show that Rana has a bright future and analysts think that in the near future, Rana might make it as a regular in the Bangladesh bowling set up in all forms.
