Mark Chapman Fires as New Zealand Triumphs in Thriller

On Wednesday night Barcelo fought to a 3-3 draw with Club Brugges in a captivating clash in the champions league at the Jan Breydel stadium due to a late self-own goal by the Belgian defender Joaquin Seys.

The outcome puts Barcelona seven points in four games, which is the 11th position in their league, and Brugues are still in the match against qualification with four points.

The game was alive early on when Nicolo Tresoldi scored the hosts the first goal in the sixth minute following a quick counter attack by Carlos Forbs. Portuguese forward went ahead of the offside line and crossed to Tresoldi who crossed in to score.

Barcelo responded almost immediately, and Ferran Torres shot in close-range at the eighth minute. However, less than five minutes later, Club Brugge got back in front of them, and Forbs became a goal-scorer once again, in the 17th minute after another fast-paced counter.

Barcelo had Barcelona dangerous in terms of forwards. In the 27 th model, Jules Kounde shook the cross bar and Torres came very close to putting the visitors ahead before the halftime.

In the second half, the Catalan side persisted in their attack, and their efforts bore results as in the 77 th minute Lamine Yamal crossed in a curling cross that Seys inadvertently headed into his own net in an attempt to clear.

Both sides had late opportunities, yet none of them could arrive at the winner. Barcelo manager Hansi Flick complimented a comeback by his team but admitted to defensive errors: We posed enough to win but gave away too easily. We must improve.”

Barcelo Barcelona will now shift their focus to La Liga where they will play Celta Vigo on Sunday hoping to take with them this theatric encounter in Europe.
