Latvian Parliament votes to withdraw from treaty opposing violence against women
Some 32 Latvian lawmakers voted to stay in the pact of the Council of Europe that opposes violence against women, while 56 voted to leave it. Two MPs abstained from voting on the treaty which the same parliament had ratified last year.
