Is The Housemaid worth watching?
The Housemaid took theaters by storm and became a smash hit for Lionsgate, crossing the $350 million milestone at the global box office and becoming Sweeney's highest-grossing film to date. Audiences and critics are mostly loving it; it currently holds a 92 percent audience rating and 73 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Is it over the top? Yes, but in the best way. If you've read The Housemaid, or any Freida McFadden book for that matter, then you know the fast-paced, twisty, borderline ridiculous popcorn thriller-style story you're in for. If not, buckle up. It certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea — in fact, Mashable's own entertainment editor was not a fan — but I personally think it's a blast.
