Recent accounts from Indian media, however, indicate that growing regional tensions including India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh cause the tour to be now seriously in doubt.

The Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka was scheduled to host four matches, while two were scheduled for the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, per the original itinerary the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent last month via a post on X.

Bangladesh is getting ready for a packed international season in meanwhile. First in a two-match T20I series at Sharjah on May 17 and 19 the Bengal Tigers will play the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Having won a 2-0 series in Dubai in 2022, this will be their second bilateral T20I series against the UAE in three years. After that, Bangladesh will head to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series set between May 25 and June 3, with games set for Faisalabad and Lahore.

First two matches will take place on May 25 and 27 at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, which lately hosted the Champions One-Day Cup in September and the National T20 Cup in April.

Arriving in Pakistan on May 21, the Bangladesh team is supposed to undergo training sessions at the Iqbal Stadium from May 22 to 24.

Bangladesh will keep their international campaign in Sri Lanka following the Pakistan tour under a full-fledged two Test, three ODI, two T20 series schedule.
