Foreign Minister Fajon on Europe Day: Only together can we preserve the EU

Ljubljana – Europe is not just a space where we live – it is a common commitment to the values that we must protect, nurture, and realize, said the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon on Europe Day on Friday. She emphasized the importance of cooperation and added that only together can we preserve the EU, which will be a guardian of peace, freedom, and prosperity.
Lasting peace among the nations of Europe requires courageous political decisions, and in times of global challenges, we must also cultivate the awareness that the European Union and its achievements are not a given. As emphasized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the connectivity of member states is not a result of chance, but rather of vision, courage, and willingness to compromise.
Slovenia advocates for a strong and united EU, which will continue to be a guardian and unwavering defender of fundamental values and interests. Therefore, on Europe Day, we once again emphasize the importance of cooperation among European countries as well as among citizens in shaping a common European space and protecting our values, they added.
