Babar Azam, the best batter of Pakistan, has openly attributed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to have fashioned his professional career. Addressing a PSL roadshow at Lord Cricket Ground in London, Babar stressed the importance of the league where young players could get to know the international stars and enhance their development faster.

Babar made his PSL debut with Islamabad United in 2016 and also played some seasons with Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. He termed the PSL as a platform that helped him to sharpen his game with the observing experienced cricketers, including Kumar Sangakkara, Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, and Mahela Jayawardene.

The experience has been quite pleasant. He said he used to be a youngster and wanted to acquaint himself with as much as possible with the best players. Spending time with international stars in the dressing rooms was a way of studying the technical and professional side of the game and it is the reason why Babar became a well-rounded player.

Another memorable experience that Babar had was when he was introduced to his cricketing idol AB de Villiers at the PSL. He referred to it as a fan moment and that interaction made him strive harder in his career.
