Fakhar Zaman offered stability as he served half a century at the helm, but wickets followed swiftly, and Pakistan was 110/7. Shaheen Afridi’s 29(14) saved the game, highlighting the relevance of a flexible lower-order player.

Salman observed that as middle-order players improve their performance, Pakistan has a consistent chance of registering 170 and above totals, providing their bowlers an added advantage.

The bowling was good, with Saim Ayub and Afridi at the forefront. The captain emphasised, however, that training the middle order to meet high-pressure Super Four matches against India or Group B leaders will determine any further advancement in the tournament.

Pakistan now concentrates on tactical development and depth maximisation in batting, a strategy that may be decisive against teams with a stronger attack.
