The PE will hold a debate regarding the repeated violations of the airspace of Romania and other European countries by Russian drones

Strasbourg – The issue of airspace violations of Romania and other European countries will be discussed in next week’s plenary session of the European Parliament, with a resolution on this topic expected to be adopted, announced MEP Victor Negrescu on Thursday.

According to him, the resolution will call for the rejection of these security challenges, concrete support for Romania, Poland, Denmark, and Estonia, and solidarity with the affected countries, closer EU-NATO cooperation for airspace defense, the development of European defense capabilities against drones, and the protection of critical infrastructures (Drone Wall).

The debate is set to take place during the plenary session in Strasbourg next Wednesday, with the vote scheduled for the following day.

“This initiative sends a clear message: Romania is not alone. The European Union must protect the sovereignty of its member states and the safety of its citizens,” wrote Negrescu on his Facebook page on Thursday. (2.10.2025)
