Slovenia joined the EU initiative to strengthen trade with Ukraine

Ljubljana – Slovenia has become one of the ten EU member states participating in European efforts to support trade with Ukraine. SID Bank has joined the Export Credit Guarantee Scheme InvestEU for Ukraine, as announced by the European Investment Bank (EIB). According to estimates, more than 550 exporters will benefit from the scheme.
The Export Credit Guarantee Scheme InvestEU for Ukraine is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Investment Fund (EIF). Under the scheme, national export credit agencies provide guarantees to small and medium-sized enterprises and so-called mid-cap companies that export to Ukraine. National guarantees are then supported by the EIF, which is part of the EIB group.
The goal is to encourage exports from the EU to Ukraine, including goods such as machinery, construction materials, and advanced technologies, as well as services that are essential for the Ukrainian economy and its recovery after the Russian aggression against the country.
Under the EU Export Credit Guarantee Scheme for Ukraine, participating national agencies have a total of 300 million euros in EIF guarantees available. SID Bank will receive 24 million euros of this guarantee potential.
“With this, SID Bank confirms its commitment to supporting Slovenian exporters in challenging conditions. We aim to strengthen economic ties and contribute to Ukraine’s recovery, while helping Slovenian companies seize new opportunities in a strategically important market,” said the CEO of SID Bank Borut Jamnik.
