Sales engagement platform lemlist acquires fellow French AI platform Claap to transform sales with AI technology

lemlist, a sales engagement platform, has acquired fellow-Parisian AI platform Claap, aimed at transforming sales with AI technology – Claaps’s investors, Headline and LocalGlobe, are exiting through the acquisition after funding and scaling the company to this milestone.
Claap, with an estimated valuation of between €12 million and €25 million, transforms sales conversations into actionable insights and context-aware AI agents. With the self-funded acquisition, scale-up lemlist, will now provide sales teams with AI-generated actionable insights based on recorded conversations with prospects, making the sales process “smarter” and more personalised.
“Our mission is aligned with lemlist to make the sales process more productive and convert conversations into revenue,” says Robin Bonduelle, CEO at Claap. “Together, our technologies will capture critical information from conversations so that sales teams can easily turn prospects into customers.”
The acquisition of Claap by lemlist comes amid a period of sustained investor activity in Europe’s AI-driven sales and conversational-automation landscape.
So far this year, several startups in adjacent sectors raised funding rounds that play into this momentum – including DRUID AI (Romania, €26 million, Series C) to expand its enterprise conversational-AI platform; OBT Live (UK, €2.6 million, Series A) to scale real-time customer-engagement technology; Merx (UK, €1.1 million, pre-Seed) for conversational commerce; Interhuman AI (Denmark, €2 million, pre-Seed) to develop social-intelligence layers for AI; and MailMoo (Finland, €300k, pre-Seed) to advance personalised video sales tools.
Within this context, lemlist’s self-funded acquisition of fellow-Parisian startup Claap reflects a strategic consolidation trend: companies are combining complementary technologies to enhance sales engagement, CRM automation and AI-driven prospecting, even as peers continue to pursue growth via venture funding across Europe.
“We tested several conversational recording solutions and no other product compared to the flawless transcripts and simple interface that Claap offers its customers,” says Charles Tenot, CEO at lemlist. “Our teams and our customers are similar, and the acquisition was a natural synergy between two companies aiming to leverage AI to revolutionise the sales industry and redefine prospecting for the next decade.”
Quick bios on each company:
- lemlist is a sales engagement platform empowering sales teams to build stronger relationships and close more deals through AI-powered personalisation and automation. Founded in 2018 by Guillaume Moubeche, the company is based in Paris and has been bootstrapped from day one – scaling to €30 million ARR, a €128 million valuation, and 100,000+ customers worldwide without raising external capital. With a remote-first team of 90+ across more than 10 countries, lemlist looks to redefine how salespeople engage prospects, streamline workflows, and turn prospects into customers.

- Claap is an AI platform that transforms sales conversations into actionable insights and context-aware AI agents. From automating follow-ups and updating CRMs to coaching teams and driving execution at scale, Claap aims to empower revenue teams to move faster and close more deals. Founded in 2021 by Robin Bonduelle, Pierre Touzeau, and Thomas Hernandez, Claap is also Paris-based – having scaled profitably with double-digit month-over-month growth.
Together the companies are launching ‘smartbound’ sales, a new generation of sales development that orchestrates targeted, contextual, and timely prospecting triggered by buying signals, and aimed at putting an end to blind “spray and pray” sales.
The acquisition aims to make the sales process more productive and change the way companies find new customers with personalised AI prompts that enable sales professionals to meet customer needs at exactly the right time.
With the unification of both companies’ technologies, lemlist can now activate Claap’s insights by automatically capturing key details from recorded sales conversations and syncing them directly into CRMs such as HubSpot and Salesforce. lemlist’s AI then generates ready-to-send follow-ups and tasks, ensuring sales reps engage prospects at the right time with the right message.
The integration of Claap’s technology is designed to streamline the sales process and improve pipeline quality by identifying buying signals, surfacing objections, and flagging critical timing cues. Sales professionals will receive real-time notifications with actionable next steps, allowing them to close deals more efficiently.
