S. Migaľ: The Ministry accelerated the absorption of EU funds from the Slovakia Program by ten percent

Bratislava – The Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization (MIRRI) of the Slovak Republic has accelerated the drawdown of EU funds from the Slovakia Program to a level of ten percent. The ministry also reports positive results in the Fund for Just Transition and in processing grant applications, which are being processed fifty percent faster. This was reported on Friday by the communication department of MIRRI, according to TASR.
“Since our arrival, the drawdown from the Slovakia Program has increased to 10.1%, which represents more than 1.27 billion euros. The previous leadership of the ministry, led by Richard Raši (Hlas-SD) and Michal Kaliňák, managed to draw only five percent of EU funds in almost two years,” said the Minister of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization Samuel Migaľ (independent). According to him, the new MIRRI team achieved the same level in less than half a year and demonstrated that the ministry can operate professionally and efficiently under quality leadership.
Not only has the drawdown of EU funds accelerated, but also the process of handling applications for non-repayable financial contributions, from an average of 80 days to 43 days, with MIRRI’s goal being to reach 40 days. The ministry also perceives positive progress in the Fund for Just Transition, with 38 contracted projects as of September 5, 2025. At the same time, the drawdown has doubled compared to March of this year.
“The former leadership left us a full ministry of unresolved issues,” concluded Migaľ. (September 12)
