Orlando Pirates midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo is set to miss Wednesday’s match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 28-year-old is ruled out of the clash through suspension after accumulating four yellow cards in domestic competition this season.

The Buccaneers should have enough depth in the midfield but Ndlondlo has always enjoyed playing against Downs.

Pirates and Sundowns do battle in Orlando

Pirates duo of Olisa Ndah and Karim Kimvuidi are inching closer to their first involvement this season after appearing as unused subs on Sunday, while midfielder Vincent Pule has resumed full training after missing the early part of the season through injury.

The Sea Robbers have a dismal record against Masandawana, winning only four times in their last 20 encounters. Last season, Sundowns did a double over Pirates and are unbeaten against Orlando Pirates in the last nine league meetings.

Since 2016, Pirates and Sundowns played 20 games. The Brazilians have dominated the fixture, winning 12 times, while Pirates only managed four wins. The four other games ended in draws.

Jose Riverio’s troops will resume their search for a first league victory in this fixture since winning at home in January 2020 when a first-half goal from Gabadinho Mhango was enough to separate the two sides.
