Pakistan ODI Squad vs Bangladesh Announced?

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced Pakistan ODI Squad vs Bangladesh as the official starting of the three match series which begins 11 March.

All the games will be hosted in the legendary Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The series is going to take place between 11 and 15 March. The Dhaka conditions are likely to challenge the depth of batting and the control of the bowling.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will remain the leader of the ODI team as a pacer in the left arm. His leadership has continued to play a key role in the transformation period of Pakistan in white ball cricket. His long term captaincy position has been trusted by the board.

One of the biggest features is the presence of six uncapped players. The new faces are Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain.

This is an indication of rebuilding strategy. Pakistan seems to be bench strength oriented and long term strategy oriented. Having young players be given a chance before any major ICC event would be vital.

Bangladesh tour is supposed to be a competitive one. The low pitches of Dhaka tend to give preference to spinners. The balance in the squads of Pakistan will be monitored. Future selections may be determined by the performance of debutants.

This is not a bilateral series of ODI. It is an experimental field of new talent. The management appears to be willing to invest in the young generation upholding experience in leadership at the heart.
