Milan-based Contents secures €5.9 million for AI workflow platform, sets up Doha hub for Middle East expansion
Contents, a work execution platform out of Italy that orchestrates AI agents, enterprise knowledge and approval workflows for global brands, has closed a €5.9 million ($7 million) Series B extension and is establishing Doha as its operational hub for the Middle East
The extension was led by Qatar Development Bank (QDB). Alkemia Capital, the Series B lead investor, also participated in the round. Total funding to date, reaches €21 million ($25 million).
“Most AI companies sell generation. We sell execution. The next phase of enterprise AI is not about models – it’s about who controls the workflow layer between intelligence and business outcomes. That’s the layer we are defining,” says Massimiliano Squillace, CEO and Founder of Contents.
In the context of European AI and agent-orchestration funding in 2025–2026, the €5.9 million Series B extension for Contents sits alongside other capital raises supporting agentic AI infrastructure and enterprise-oriented platforms.
Blockbrain secured a substantial €17.5 million Series A to advance enterprise-grade AI agents; Overmind landed €2.3 million to build supervision layers for agentic systems; Move To Happiness raised €1 million for its AI platform linking wellbeing and organisational performance; and Allonic attracted €6 million with backing that includes OpenAI as it scales its robotics and AI manufacturing platform.
Together these rounds illustrate continued investor interest in AI platforms that extend beyond model generation into execution, governance, and integration layers – providing context for Contents’ positioning as an enterprise workflow and orchestration platform within this evolving ecosystem.
“With Doha as our operational base, we are building the gateway to the entire Arabic-speaking world – over 400 million people across 22 countries. No other European AI platform operates natively in 15 Arabic dialects. That’s not a feature. That’s a market position,” says Massimiliano.
Founded in 2021, Contents is a work execution platform for global enterprises. It transforms internal enterprise knowledge into complex business outcomes – from multi-market product launches to automated regulatory documentation – governed and at scale.
The company believes that Europe has produced strong AI research and applications, but few enterprise-grade orchestration platforms at global scale. Contents positions itself as the missing control layer – model-agnostic, multilingual, and compliant by design – at a time when Gulf economies are investing heavily in sovereign AI capabilities.
Model-agnostic by design, Contents integrates Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Mistral, operating in 25+ languages including 15 Arabic dialects.
Instead of generating content, Contents orchestrates business workflows: a fashion brand says “launch this collection across 18 markets” and the platform handles generation, localisation, compliance, approvals and delivery end-to-end.
With this round closed, Contents will accelerate its expansion across the GCC region, establishing Doha as its operational hub for the Middle East and investing in advanced AI solutions for content orchestration, localisation and governance at global scale.
Massimiliano Squillace also participated as a speaker at the 2024 EU-Startups Summit, where he joined discussions on the current state and future opportunities of AI in Europe.
