Lucid accelerates the future of work with new AI and productivity innovations

Lucid Software, the leader in visual collaboration and work acceleration, today announced advancements across its platform, including new AI capabilities, expansion of its accelerators, and deeper functionality designed to help organizations transform operations and drive agility at scale.

Building on Lucid’s mission of helping teams see and build the future through accelerating work, these announcements reinforce the company’s ability to enable enterprises to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and the practical realities of execution, especially as companies race to adopt AI.

“AI has the potential to transform business on a scale we haven’t seen in decades,” said Dave Grow, CEO of Lucid Software. “Yet most enterprises aren’t fully ready to adopt it, weighed down by fragmented processes and legacy realities. That’s where Lucid is uniquely positioned to help. By simplifying documentation, aligning strategy, and enabling execution, Lucid equips enterprises to overcome the legacy barriers that slow AI adoption and ensures they can unlock measurable outcomes from AI that drive lasting business impact.”

Driving AI transformation at scale

AI promises massive change, but most enterprises still face a gap between ambition and execution. Lucid helps close that gap by supporting organizations at every stage of AI transformation: readiness, through documenting processes and context; strategy, by aligning teams on opportunities and roadmaps; and execution, with clear visibility into how people and AI agents work together.

“AI is completely transforming how we work at Carta,” said Henry Ward, CEO of Carta. “We use Lucid to map out complex workflows, which gives us a shared view of what we’re building. It makes it easy to iterate early and move fast without a heavy engineering lift. We’re also using it to help train AI agents to run workflows inside Carta.”

This real-world validation underscores Lucid’s unique role in bridging the gap between AI’s promise and practical adoption. And building on that foundation, today Lucid introduced Lucid AI, a new set of intelligent capabilities that empowers teams to create, collaborate, and uncover insights directly on the canvas. With Lucid AI, users can generate diagrams, organize ideas, summarize complex boards, and refine visuals in real time, working with AI as naturally as with another teammate from a single entry point on the canvas.

The company also announced its upcoming MCP Server, which will securely connect Lucid to large language models like Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT. This new capability will enable powerful agentic workflows, such as searching and summarizing Lucid documents through natural language, or even collaborating with AI agents from external systems.

Accelerating work
Beyond AI, Lucid introduced significant enhancements across its platform to accelerate critical initiatives. The company has advanced its accelerators, first introduced in April, providing enterprises with improved solutions to document workflows, manage technical environments, and plan large-scale initiatives with greater visibility and intelligence. New functionality announced today further expands their impact.

  • The Process Accelerator centralizes process documentation in searchable repositories with approval flows and reusable assets. Further functionality now includes expanded governance and standardization features, with private repositories and object assets coming soon.
  • The Cloud Accelerator generates up-to-date diagrams from AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to help teams understand and plan their infrastructures. Additionally, users can now take advantage of blueprints and data source sharing, with APIs in development for even greater automation.
  • The Agility Accelerator supports agile planning and execution across frameworks, surfacing insights and aligning teams on the best path forward. Recent enhancements include capacity planning and scenario planning, with parent shapes and AI-driven insights on the horizon.

The company also announced updates to its core Visual Collaboration Suite, including assisted layout features that instantly organize complex diagrams and boards, as well as new feedback capabilities, like the ability to attach notes to certain parts of a diagram, and enhanced functionality for collapsible diagrams that make it easier to refine and share work. These improvements help teams move from ideas to clear, presentation-ready visuals in a fraction of the time.

And since its acquisition earlier this year, airfocus has become an essential part of Lucid’s ecosystem, enabling product leaders to turn brainstorming sessions into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Recent updates make it even more powerful: Teams can now prioritize more effectively with insight scoring, create clearer views with improved grouping and new swimlanes, and capture richer context through enhanced Lucid Cards for airfocus, including fields for insight data, key results, and priority ratings.

The announcements reflect Lucid’s continued investment in becoming the intelligent work acceleration platform where human creativity and AI execution come together to deliver business outcomes faster.
