Kalas: We are working on the analysis of the dialogue between BG and PR to encourage the normalization of relations

BRUSSELS – The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the EU is working this month on analyzing the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to encourage the normalization of relations.

Kallas, at a joint press conference with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić in Podgorica, in response to a question regarding the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, said that talks are being held with the EU’s special envoy for this dialogue, Peter Sorensen, to see what works and what does not in this regard.

She emphasized that the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is important for the EU because, as she added, “without it, neither side can progress on the path to the EU.” “What we are doing this month is sitting down with the special envoy to really go through what the mistakes are on that path, what works and what does not, and to ignite a new fire in this process of normalizing relations,” Kallas stated, without providing further details. Kallas arrived in Montenegro today, and during her first visit to the Western Balkans, she will also visit Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. (April 7)
