India’s Yastika Bhatia ruled out of Women’s World Cup 2025

International news outlets claimed on Thursday that India’s up-and-coming wicketkeeper batter Yastika Bhatia will not be able to play in the next three-match ODI series against Australia or the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 because of an injury.
A report says that the 24-year-old hurt her left knee while training with India in Visakhapatnam.
Bhatia was chosen as the second-choice wicketkeeper batter behind Richa Gosh since she had been doing well for India “A” in Australia, hitting 59, 66, and 42 runs in three 50-over matches.
So, Uma Chetry, who was one of India’s backup players, has taken Bhatia’s place in both teams.
The 23-year-old has played in seven T20Is for India but has not yet played in an ODI. Chetry has been taken off the India “A” team that was supposed to play South Africa in a World Cup 2025 warm-up match on September 28 after being named to the final roster.
India will begin their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 campaign against co-host Sri Lanka on September 30.
