India vs Zimbabwe T20 world cup match was won by India which dominated it by a huge margin of 72 points in the Super Eights stage. It was also evident in the match that India had a good batting depth and attacking intent in one of the most important matches of the tournament.

India made a phenomenal result of 256 of four in 20 overs batting first after Zimbabwe had opted to bowl first. It was not a good move by Zimbabwe to bring out first since the innings was dominated by Indian batters since the beginning.

A quick start was given by Left handed opener Abhishek Sharma. His score was 55 runs on 30 balls. Four boundaries and four sixes were recorded on his innings. Sharma maintained the rate of scoring in the powerplay overs.

Hardik Pandya then completed the innings with style. He still did not lose on 50 out of 23 balls. Pandya hit four sixes and two fours. His tardy entry took India to a massive total which became hard to pursue.

Bowlers in Zimbabwe could not control the runs. The wicket was done by Richard Ngarava, Tinotenda Maposa, Blessing Muzarabani and captain Sikandar Raza respectively. The bowling unit was however not able to prevent the runs.

In pursuit of 257, Zimbabwe was under continual pressure of the stipulated run rate. The target was also too large despite the resistance of the batting side. The bowlers of India were in control and never gave Zimbabwe a chance to form alliances.

This victory boosts the position of India in the Super Eights stage. The team appears to be balanced in both the batting and bowling sectors.

India became a demonstration again that they are still strong competitors to win the T20 World Cup.
