ICC announces nominees for Men’s Player of the Month for April

With figures of 3/50 in the first innings, including the vital wicket of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, the 28-year-old was at his destructive best in the first Test in Sylhet.
Leading Zimbabwe’s bowling attack to ensure an exciting three-wicket triumph, Muzarabani went a step further in the second innings claiming 6/72.
His outstanding effort won him the Player of the Match trophy. Claiming 10 wickets at an amazing average of 20.50 over the two-match series, he became Zimbabwe’s top wicket-taker.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh’s flexible all-rounder who had a superb all-round performance across the series, is joining him on the list of nominees.
Although Bangladesh lost the first Test in Sylhet, the 27-year-old was important with the ball, recording successive five-wicket hauls of 5/52 in the first innings and 5/50 in the second, thereby keeping Bangladesh in contention.
Miraz really took front stage in the second Test in Chattogram. Dismissed for a meagre total in their first innings, he anchored Bangladesh’s innings with a stunning 104 off 162 deliveries.
Following up with another five-wicket haul with stats of 5/32 in Zimbabwe’s second innings, he helped Bangladesh even the series with an impressive innings-and-106-run victory.
Mehidy capped up a great month with both bat and ball having 116 runs at an average of 38.66 and a stunning 15 wickets at an average of 11.86.
