Gonzato: Justice should be tangible for Albanian citizens, thus membership in the EU will be seen as a transformative opportunity

The Constitutional Court in Albania presented the second volume of the Jurisprudence Guide in the presence of high state authorities.
The Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçe, emphasized during the presentation that for the first time the complete jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court is made accessible in a structured and comprehensive format, enabling a better understanding and practical use of constitutional principles and standards.
Zaçe added that the decisions of the Constitutional Court are binding and their execution constitutes a constitutional obligation for all powers.
Therefore, she added, “constitutionality as a way of being and behaving is our only passport on the path of integration towards a united Europe.”
The Ambassador of the European Union Delegation in Albania, Silvio Gonzato, for his part, appreciated that the justice provided by the courts will be a valuable contribution on Albania’s path to EU membership.
Gonzato emphasized that it is important for justice to be visible and tangible for citizens.
“Final decisions must meet standards and build trust, creating bridges between courts and a common language for these institutions. Justice must not only be given, but citizens must see it, understand it, and have trust in it,” said Gonzato.
Only in this way, he emphasized, “membership in the European Union will be seen as a transformative opportunity.”
Gonzato also highlighted that, “the Constitutional Court has created a rich and complex body of jurisprudence that has protected fundamental rights and contributed to justice reform.”
Therefore, Gonzato added, this guide is valuable because it represents a strong response to challenges. “This guide offers a practical knowledge base for continuous judicial learning,” concluded Gonzato. (July 14)
