EU reintroduces sanctions against Iran

Brussels – The EU countries are also reintroducing the sanctions against Iran that were frozen in connection with the nuclear agreement (JCPOA) in 2015.

The sanctions consist of entry bans and frozen assets for a number of individuals, companies, and organizations, as well as various trade and transport measures. For example, it will be prohibited to import or transport Iranian crude oil, natural gas, gasoline, and other similar products.

The sanctions are being reintroduced as a result of the UN sanctions coming back into effect, after Iran has been accused of not complying with the JCPOA.
