EU countries lead in foreign direct investments in BiH: In 2024, the inflow amounted to 1.76 billion KM

Sarajevo, (Fena) – The inflow of foreign direct investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 amounted to 1.76 billion KM, according to data from the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBiH) on foreign direct investments for 2024.
The flows of direct investments in 2024 are 301.2 million KM lower than in 2023, when they amounted to 2.06 billion KM.
In terms of geographical distribution, the highest inflow of investments during 2024 is from the European Union, with Croatia at 391.1 million KM, followed by Germany at 255.3 million KM and Slovenia at 247.1 million KM.
When viewed by sectors, the highest investments, amounting to 503.8 million KM, were realized in the field of financial services, followed by retail trade at 219.8 million KM, and wholesale trade at 205.1 million KM.
At the end of 2024, the total amount of foreign direct investments in BiH was 21.22 billion KM. In addition to the foreign direct investments realized during 2024, this amount also represents the result of investments from previous years, as well as the results of operations of companies in foreign ownership. The largest amount of direct investment is related to Croatia at 3.22 billion KM or 15.2 percent of the total investment amount, followed by Austria at 2.9 billion KM or 13.7 percent and Serbia at 2.8 billion KM or 13.3 percent of the total investment amount.
When viewed by sectors, the largest amount of foreign direct investment is in the field of financial services (4.27 billion KM), followed by telecommunications (2.02 billion KM) and wholesale trade (2.01 billion KM). (27.08.)
