More than 212,000 pounds of liquid egg products have been recalled due to the possibility that they’ve been contaminated with cleaning solution.

Cargill Kitchen Solutions has recalled 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products, including Egg Beaters and Bob Evans brands, that might contain a cleaning mixture with sodium hypochlorite, according to an announcement by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Sodium hypochlorite is the main active ingredient in chlorine bleach.

FSIS conducted an investigation after receiving a tip about possible contamination. After investigating, scientists announced a Class III recall, meaning that the use of the products is not likely to cause any health issues.

How To Tell if You Have the Recalled Products

The liquid egg products were produced on March 12 and 13, 2025, according to the FSIS. They have the establishment number “G1804” on the carton in ink jet.

The recalled products were shipped to distributors in Ohio and Texas and for use at food service locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Iowa. The products may also have been distributed nationwide.

What To Do if You Have Recalled Products

FSIS doesn’t expect the recalled liquid egg products to cause any health issues, but if you have them in your fridge or freezer, you shouldn’t use them. Food service companies should not serve them to customers.

Instead, you should throw them away or return them to the retailer for a refund or exchange. If you’ve used them and have concerns, contact your doctor. If you have questions about the recall, you can reach out to Cargill at 1-844-419-1574 or [email protected].
