Dutch introduction of European cybersecurity laws postponed

THE HAGUE – The deadline agreed upon in Brussels of October 18, 2024, will therefore be further exceeded.
The NIS2 directive stipulates that companies must report cyber incidents to the regulator within 24 hours. More companies fall under this new European law, bringing them under supervision as well. The Dutch implementation of the rules will be included in the Cybersecurity Act.
The CER directive aims to protect vital infrastructure such as energy and water companies from digital threats. These rules will be included in the Act on the Resilience of Critical Entities.
