Digital Poland is an example for digital Europe

Changes in digital Poland are a good example of how digital Europe should change, said on Monday Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski. The more offices in the digital system, the easier the cooperation between public administration units, he added.

Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, during the conference “Dissemination of EZD – digital transformation in administration,” emphasized that the Electronic Document Management system (EZD RP) is one of the foundations of the state’s digital transformation.

“Changes in digital Poland are a good example of how digital Europe should change. Poland’s digital transformation is today one of the best examples in the entire European Union. Electronic Document Management is the type of system format where not only office employees, not only the administration, but above all citizens have a sense of closeness to the administration,” said Gawkowski.

He noted that Poland has spent billions on transforming Polish administration into a digital one. “Today, millions are being used to transform it into a digital, digitized, open one. This is over 200 million zlotys from the National Recovery Plan and 30 million zlotys from the funds of the Ministry of Digital Affairs,” he added.

“The more offices in the system, the easier the cooperation between public administration units, but also between citizens. Digitalization is a new way of thinking about how the state will change before our eyes,” he added.

Electronic Document Management is a system that all public entities, including offices, can use free of charge. As stated on its website by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, one of the benefits resulting from the implementation of Electronic Document Management in administration is the transparency of institutional operations. “Thanks to reflecting in the IT system all activities performed by officials in the course of handling cases, clients of the administration have the opportunity to become acquainted with the way their case is handled,” explains the Ministry.

The Electronic Document Management system is being developed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs and NASK, using funds from the National Recovery Plan. The Central IT Center (COI) is responsible for the system from the technical side. (8.12.2025)
