Competition: China extends its investigation into European dairy products

Paris (France) – The investigations will be extended by six months, until February 21, 2026, due to the “complexity of the case,” said the Chinese Minister of Commerce in a statement released online on Monday.
Beijing launched this investigation into the imports of certain European cheeses, milk, and cream in August 2024, following the EU’s announcement of its decision to impose high tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
The Twenty-Seven accused Beijing of distorting competition by massively subsidizing manufacturers in its territory, allowing them to offer lower prices. European surcharges on Chinese electric cars of up to 35% thus came into effect in October 2024.
