CodeBase partners with Cork-based Republic of Work to drive cross-border startup growth

CodeBase has partnered with Cork-based Republic of Work to drive cross-border startup growth.  The Celtic Link pilot programme launched this week aims to help tech companies from Scotland and Ireland scale beyond their own home markets, opening the door to new investors, workspaces, networks, and mentors, while creating a fast, accessible pipeline for talent, collaboration, and innovation between the two regions.

Located in the centre of Cork, Republic of Work is a leading international innovation hub.  As a gateway for international companies entering the EU, it provides comprehensive infrastructure and access to national and international programmes.

Frank Brennan, CEO and owner of Republic of Work, said: “Celtic Link is about creating a low-cost, high impact corridor for our founders.  By partnering with CodeBase and its Techscaler network, we are giving Cork startups a home in Scotland and providing Scottish firms with a clear, supported path into the EU single market through Cork.”

CodeBase is a leading tech ecosystem support organisation helping to build and grow tech startups and scaleups, and delivers Techscaler, the Scottish Government’s tech startup support programme, a programme that has supported over 1,500 startups to date.  Edinburgh-headquartered CodeBase focuses on early stage pathways for startups, high growth and scaleup support, and operates across the UK and internationally.

Helen Tate, Head of Strategic Partnerships at CodeBase, said: “Our partnership with Republic of Work gives Scottish founders access to an internationally recognised network in Ireland as they look to expand into the wider EU Market.  We’re excited to welcome founders from Cork and support them in establishing a pathway into the UK market through Scotland.”

CodeBase is bringing a cohort of Scotland-based tech founders to Dublin Tech Summit (27-28 May), where CodeBase COO Richard Lennox will host a roundtable and a dedicated session for Ireland-based CTOs.

Lennox said “Scotland’s best founders don’t need permission to go international, they need an open door. Ireland is one of Europe’s most connected tech markets, and we’re pushing that door open together.”
