Can India Seal Another Dominant Test Series 2025
India seem to be on the verge of completing a convincing 2 goal lead in a series of Tests against the West Indies on another domineering performance on Day 4 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
On the second evening, the hosts finished the penultimate day at 63/1 and only required 58 more runs to win the second test. Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul stood steadfast in an uninterrupted 54-run partnership, displaying nerves following Yashasvi Jaiswal’s initial dismissal.
The climax of the day had already happened when the West Indies, in turn, demonstrated resistance with the help of John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103), who scored their third and maiden centuries, respectively.
In the middle order, however, the Caribbean side failed once more. Having made 271/4, they crumbled to 311/9, revealing their usual weakness in unfamiliar conditions. The last wicket partnership between Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales, with 79 runs, gave the team some respectability and increased the target to 121.
And in the case of India the bowlers proved once again. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah took three apiece, Mohammed Siraj was critical in taking two. The disciplined spin-space mixture was too much for the visitors, who could not capitalise after making a good start.
As the series is no longer out of their reach, they will probably be interested in completing the task effectively and keeping their home streak. The batting strength and stability of India in the future are also brought out in the solid performances of Sudharsan and Rahul. Without West Indies performing a miracle on the last morning, it seems like an easy Indian win, which will be the conclusion of another successful home Test series of Rohit Sharma and his men.
