Brussels disburses more 1.06 billion euros of the Recovery and Resilience Plan to Portugal

BRUSSELS – The European Commission disbursed today 1.06 billion euros in grants to Portugal, following its seventh payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) and its national program.
According to a statement from the community executive, this payment covers 27 targets and milestones in sectors such as health, housing, forest fire management, renewable energies, and improvements in the business environment.
The funds support measures that include the acquisition of medical equipment, the renovation of hydroelectric plants in Madeira, and the development of publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations.
Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), supported by a total financing package of 21.9 billion euros (16.3 billion euros in grants and 5.6 billion euros in loans), has now reached a disbursement rate of 62%. (26/11/25)
