Helicopter crashes in field near Aldborough in North Yorkshire, say police

A helicopter has crashed in a field near Aldborough, close to Boroughbridge.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene after the emergency services received reports of the crash around 1.23pm.

It was unclear whether there were any casualties.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: At 1.23pm today, police received reports of a helicopter crash near Aldborough, Boroughbridge.

Officers are currently at the scene. Fire and ambulance crews are also in attendance.

Police are not yet able to confirm any information about casualties.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire &Rescue Service said: North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 13:26 to reports of a helicopter crashing into a field near Aldborough (close to Boroughbridge).

A number of fire engines from Boroughbridge, Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon are in attendance, and are using hose reels to dampen down the scene.

North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service are also in attendance.
